We’re excited to have one of our own Turnbull Open Range Single Action Army revolvers journey back to our showroom, after helping make enjoyable memories for its owner. This well cared for example is chambered in .38 special.
Collectors will remember that Turnbull single action revolvers were built on U.S. Firearms hardware, with all U.S.-made parts. Serial number SP172 is in overall very good condition, showing few markings typical of its age and use. The photos included here will note some holster wear on the finish, typical cylinder and hammer drag marks, and a few minor nicks on the barrel and blade sight.
Metal finishes include bone charcoal color case hardened receiver and hammer, with high polish charcoal blued cylinder, barrel and parts. Our in-house engraver did the honors with this example’s “B” coverage. The elk grips are in excellent condition.
