Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This just in today, a really cool vintage 1980 production Marlin Model 1894 Carbine in .357 Magnum/.38 Special with an 18.5" inch barrel. The Marlin Model 1894 Carbine was only made from 1979 to 1984, and ewas only offered in .357 Magnum. This lever-action repeater model features a factory gloss blue finish, an American Walnut stock set, an 18.5" inch barrel, and no hammer-block or crossbolt safety. The carbine weighs in at 6 pounds total. The receiver came from the factory drilled and tapped for optics, and the factory iron sights has a driftable rear sight with an elevator and folding blade. This Marlin 1894 Carbine was bought new in 1980 by the original owner and it has lived a very easy life, having been shot and carried only a handful of times. The original owner was also a machinist, and designed and built a very nicely-made upper sling swivel mount that is clamped onto both the barrel and magazine tube. As you can see from the pictures, this Marlin is in beautiful condition with the factory gloss blue finish rating 97%, with the only deductions coming from some little specs of surface rust on the receiver and some handling marks scattered about on the gun (mainly around the rear sight). The bore in this carbine is perfect and bright, with no pitting, erosion, or imperfections of any kind visible. The Micro-Groove rifling looks factory-new. The original American Walnut stock set is also in excellent condition. Neither the forearm or the buttstock shows any wear or damage outside of some very minor handling marks, and the wood is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. All of the original stock hardware is intact and in excellent condition, including the original Marlin-branded buttplate and white spacer. This 1894 Carbine is in perfect working order, and the action is slick and precise. The bolt and lever locks nicely into battery without any slop or play, and the trigger breaks nicely with a light pull. This sought-after and scarce Marlin would make an excellent addition to any Marlin or gun collection and should be an excellent long-term investment.
