The semi-automatic Winchester Model 100 was manufactured from 1961 until 1973, and was offered in .243 Winchester, .308 Winchester, and .284 Winchester. Most of production was here in the United States with a small number also made in Japan. The Model 100 features a gloss blue factory finish on the steel parts, a factory drilled and tapped receiver, a 4-shot detachable box magazine, a 22" inch round barrel with iron sights, and a pistol grip Walnut stock with impressed basket-weave checkering. This gas-operated automatic proved to be an excellent rifle, both accurate and reliable with light felt recoil. Today the Winchester Model 100 is a collectible rifle with all original and high condition examples being sought-after. This particular rifle is an American-made example made in 1967 chambered in .308 Winchester that has been used very very little and has likely spent most of it's life in a gun safe. It is in excellent condition overall and is 100% original and unaltered. The factory gloss blue finish is beautiful and rates 97%, with only some very minor and tiny spots of finish wear on top of the receiver from an optics base and a little finish thinning on the front sight base. As you can see in the pictures, this rifle is very attractive and clean. The bore is superb in this Model 100, bright and clean with nice sharp rifling and no pitting or imperfections. The original stock is excellent, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or wear. The stock shows only some very minor handling/storage marks, and the basket weave checkering is still crisp and clean. All of the factory stock hardware is still in place and in excellent condition including the original factory sling swivels and buttplate. All of the controls on this rifle are in 100% working order and the bolt locks into battery perfectly. We have no doubt that this Winchester would shoot just as well today as it did when it left the factory in 1967. This is a "collector grade" Model 100, and if you have been looking for one of these for your collection here is your chance to get a beauty.
