PENDING SALE-This is another unfired rifle I "had to have" at the time, but after a year of sitting in the safe, it's time to go. This is the new Steyr Classic Mannlicher, or now CL-2, with the drop out magazine, hammer-forged barrel, and Schnabel forend. MSRP on these rifles is $2,410, but I bought it at a good price from a dealer who couldn't move it in his small local market.
Steyr rifles are one of the most accurate factory rifles made. The first one I ever owned, an inexpensive Prohunter in 308, shot under 3/10ths" with factory Hornady ammunition. Another one I owned, an SSG 69, I sold to a guy in the military who used it in matches.
When I bought the rifle, I wanted a gloss scope to match the bright blue of the metalwork, so I bought a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x50 that will accommodate the range capabilities of the 270 WSM.
Buy the rifle only, or add 10 boxes of premium ammunition ($390), the Leupold ($400), RCBS dies ($38), and rings and bases ($85) all for $1,849.
