Fantastic condition, all factory-original Model 70 in .257 Roberts manufactured in 1953. 99%+ condition Model 70 in the rare .257 Roberts caliber. There is basically nothing wrong with the wood or metallic finishes on this rifle. Basically in mint condition. Of the 18 caliber varieties the Pre-64 Model 70 came in, the .257 Roberts is about the top 25% rarest. I purchased this rifle used but have never fired it since I have owned it and I don’t think it has had much use, if any in its last 66 years in existence. Gun has never been scoped or otherwise modified. This Winchester is currently appraised at a retail value of $3,250 per my online subscription to Blue Books of Gun Values based on condition, year manufactured, and the aforementioned, less-encountered .257 Roberts caliber. As you may know, BBGV is very conservative in appraising firearms for pretty much all but very rare and limited run firearms. My asking price is materially below the BBGV appraisal value.
