ABOUT THE BEST CONDITION .38-55 CALIBER 1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE I’VE OFFERED! #960XXX, MADE 1923. This is simply a superb investment ’94 that has just enough wear to indicate that it hasn’t been restored or “helped” in any way. This carbine retains about all the receiver blue with only the most minor of ageing and a hint of edge wear. The bolt shows a little brown thinning, but even the upper tang shows about all the blue. Exc. deep blue on the barrel and mag tube with correct carbine ladder rear sight with slide intact, exc. markings, rear barrel band showing some age and brown, front band shows nearly all the blue, exc. screws, very tight wood to metal fit on the walnut butt stock and forend which show minimal handling. Exc. blue on the lever, butt plate blue mixing plum and brown, minty bore, tight action. Like I said, just enough wear to put your mind at ease. This is a super .38-55 carbine.
