Excellent Pre 64 Winchester 70 transition 30 Gov't '06. S/N 60xxx with matching bolt Mfg. 1947. Barrel is 24" with excellent bore. About 97% Blue and Varnish on a very handsome piece of wood with a bit of figure. Retains some of the Pre War features such as matted and undrilled rear receiver bridge and clover leaf tang. A high quality and perfectly functioning period Tilden safety has been installed in favor of the standard issue (and for some awkward) top mounted flag safety. Sights, hood, swivels, butt plate, etc. are all correct and mechanical function is perfect.
Overall, a truly great example of the finest sporting rifle ever produced, in a caliber 2nd to none.
