Description:
This Colt was produced in 1916. The pistol's serial number is 38857. It is chambered for the 38 Automatic. Do not shoot 38 Super in these old Colts! You will damage the pistol! The factory letter states that this pistol was sent to Simmons Hardware Co. Philadelphia Pennsylvania on Feb. 26th 1916. One of three sent to that order. This Colt has a very fine bore. The original grips have no damage or cracks. The hard rubber grips are in near new condition with sharp checkering and clear logos. The action works smoothly with a crisp trigger release. It comes with the original "military" marked magazine. The spare magazine is a slightly latter style without the "military" stamp. The original bluing would rate a 95% overall condition. The sides of the slide have some light freckling in spots. The hammer show very good color cased finish. The ejection port of the barrel shows high polish finish. This is a very nice condition Colt that will appeal to the collector of early Automatic Pistols. Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
