This a beautiful Merwin Hulbert revolver in 38 S&W . I dont remember seing to many of these with the skull crusher. This may have been carried by a Pinkerton or Bank offiicial. This has the unique Loading system with sliding barrel an cylinder. What amazes me is the engineering of the time . This one works flawlessly Just precision if you are a gaget Guy you need to have one of these. The finish displays over 95% nikle with scttered staining on the receiver. an backstrap. The grips have no cracks or chips does show small abrasion to the right grip. I had some old 38 S&W loaded a few shells it works great diid not fire it . I live in a gated community I didnt want the SWAT team to appear on my door step. The bore show very pronounced rifeling with some shine. the mechanics are perfect indexes properly with perfect allingment . Lock up is tight this is a double action . in single action occasionally doesnt hold in half cock You must put in half cock to operaate sliding barrel an cylinder
