Description:
Here's a VERY nice example of a rare Winchester 1895 SRC in 30-06 caliber. S/N is 95xx indicating a manufacture date of 1915! The barrel is 22".
Overall condition is excellent. The wood looks nearly new with only a few light use marks. The metal is also nice with the main detractors being some moderate flaking of the blue in receiver area, especially the lever, and an area of light corrosion/pits on left side of barrel toward the muzzle. There is an elevator rear sight which functions perfectly and a trap door butt plate currently housing some vintage cleaning attachments and old stiring. The rifle appears to be 100% original with the exception of the front sight which looks like it was carefully crafted from a flattened out dime! I left it there because it is actually very bright and functional, but would be an easy swap if it bugs the buyer.
Not perfect, but the best such example I have personally seen, and priced comparably to some real junkers.
