Very decent early 1962 Ruger "44 Carbine," Ser # 508XX. Ruger carbines made from 1959 through 1970s. In 1962 Sturm Ruger used two serial number groups, this gun is from the second group, which began 50,000.
Ships to FFL or license holder.
Orig oil walnut finish, has 3 (minor) dings, shown, no cracks, which is fine for rifle 50 + years old.
Six pound, short rifle is the handiest pig- deer-gun I have handled. Fun shooter.
No longer manufactured - too expensive.
Includes Tasco military type dot-ranging scope and mounts...detached.
Rifle has Ruger's stock front and rear open sights.
Original metal buttplate has some (normal) rubs from being set down etc (shown).
No rust or pitting. Bore is mirror. Rifle in fine condition. Guessing box of shells shot but not many.
I thought to keep, but do not shoot/hunt much and kids do not.
Bluing is good no scratches, pitting, etc.
As noted, factory walnut has three dings (pics) plus some barrel band scrapes from loose bbl band; no cracks etc.
Cleaned/oiled every couple months.
Rifle is just fine...older but very usable. If you hunt hogs and deer, it is very decent shooter and light 200 yard deer gun .44).
Am not frqeuent seller here, so guessed at insured shipping cost at $50. If too high, will reimburse whole dollats and if I guessed low, I will absorb diff.
Am reducing inventory, but might keep this one.
If MN or western WI person, I will consider driving reasonable distance. Ship is in included hard case. Weaver Rings and 2.75x scope separate package.
