Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This is a very attractive, clean, and original Smith Corona Model 1903A3 rifle made during World War 2 in 1943. It appears to have been thru one U.S. Arsenal rebuild at Raritan Arsenal after WW2 but retains the original barrel and majority of the original S.C. parts. It has been very well cared for and shot very little, as the bore is excellent and gauges a "1" at the muzzle and a "3" at the throat. The bore is bright and clean and has sharp rifling throughout. The original parkerized finish is in great shape on this Smith Corona and shows a very attractive and consistent color on all of the parts except for the bolt, which shows more finish wear than the rest of the rifle. All of the factory stampings are nice and crisp, including the barrel which is stamped "S.C." over a U.S. Ordnance Bomb and the date "6-43". The original stock on this Smith Corona is in very good condition overall, showing only minor handling/storage marks and a shallow crack just behind the rear tang. This crack appears to be superficial only and does not go down thru the wood, it will not move or open even with a twisting torque applied to it. As you can see from the pictures, the stock has a great look to it and is a very pleasing red-brown color. The handguard and stock are a near perfect match, and all of the stock hardware is intact including the buttplate. The left side of the stock still shows a faint "FJA" cartouche and Ordnance Wheel, as well as the "RA" stamp from Raritan Arsenal. The "circle P" stamp is nice and clean on the bottom of the wrist, and a collection of 7 various factory inspection stamps are still visible ahead of the floorplate (letters/numbers within shapes). It is not often that we get these rifles with those little inspection stamps still visible. All of the controls/sight adjustments on this rifle are in perfect working order and the action is smooth and precise. The bolt turns into battery perfectly and locks up tight with no play. This Smith Corona should shoot just as well today as it did in 1943. This 1903A3 comes with an original U.S.G.I. M1907 leather sling on it in good, solid condition. This 1903A3 would be the perfect rifle for someone who wants one of these famous WW2 rifles for their collection that they can enjoy at the range or on display.
