This Pre-War rifle is not only in an uncataloged caliber, but previously owned by Doug Murray the author of the book " The Ninety-Nine"..."A History of the Savage Model 99". This, his personal rifle, is mentioned in his book on page P3. A great piece of Savage 99 collecting history and would be an outstanding, rare and one of a kind 99 for anyones collection. This rifle is in prestine condition, beautiful rich bluing, brillant casecolers on the lever, sharp checking on the forearm and butt stocks, perfect bore. A stamped #14 behind the pistol grip on the bottom of the butt stock is present as described in his letter and in his book.
