Description:
Serial #822561, 7.5mm Swiss, 25 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a SAMCO import that has 90-92% of the original blue finish that has faded to gray on the high edges and projections, especially at the muzzle and front sight. The bolt still has an armory bright finish with some usage wear along the bearing surfaces, a thick coat of protective grease, and the bright alloy handle is intact. There is a SAMCO import marking on the right side of the barrel at the muzzle. The stock and handguard have numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes in the original military oil finish, including a series of perpendicular bruises at the wrist on the left side, and the original, matching numbered magazine is included. Also included is an original K.31 bayonet by Neuhausen (numbered to a different rifle). The bayonet measures 16 3/4" overall with an 11 3/4" double-edged blade. The blade has a fine bright gray patina that carries over onto the hilt, and the wooden grip panels are worn but intact. The scabbard is undented, and the original leather frog is also included. This is a fine example of a desirable late model Schmidt-Rubin overall. These rifles are renowned for their accuracy and this example should make a great shooter. FFL or C&R
