Description:
This is a custom Model 98 Mauser in original 8 MM. Caliber. I have listed it as post war custom but I do not really know that this is true. It is highly customized and the stock style is German so I am assuming it was done by a German gunsmith. The barrel is 24" and has been turned down to reduce weight. The complete gun weighs 6 lbs. 8 ozs. The wood to metal fit is excellent. The sights are the folding leaf safari sights. There are two small scratches on the wrist area. Bluing is very close to 100%. The rifle functions and shoots very well. There is some very minor darkness in the bottom of the rifling grooves. There is a chip on the Butt Plate. All in all it is a beautiful rifle in an old fashioned style that is a work of art.
