Description:
Springfield M1 Garand, Ser. 18867XX. Mfg. 1943, Barrel Dated 12.54. This is a CMP service grade gun that has been and may have some original to the gun parts added. It retains about 95-96% of the original Parkerizing. The only loss there is, is due to some slight sharp edge silvering and some small loss around the front sight and gas tube. There is no rust, pin pricks or scratches anywhere. The gun features the early type of machined trigger housing. The dark walnut stock is out standing and flawless. It has had a linseed oil treatment to enhance the color and preserve the wood. The slide rail, bolt face and feed ramp show very little use. The bore is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling with not a drop of frost. The throat gauges 2 and the muzzle 1. It doesn't get much better than that. It comes with the original CMP carrying case, a "Letter of Authenticity" and the M1 booklet and two enblocs. A beautiful addition to any collection, a fine investment and a winner at the range.
