This is the small, vest-size spread eagle powder flask for the Colt or Remington. It measures 1 3/4 inches wide at the widest point and 3 7/8 inches tall from the bottom to the top of the spout. It has at least 95% of the original dark brown lacquer. These little flasks are rare to begin with and almost never seen with original lacquer. This flask also has a good amount of the gold gild left, especially on the top. It has a few small dings from normal handling usage which in my opinion, do not distract from the flask due to it's age. The gate, spring and spout all work exactly as they should. The seams are very good to fine. The top is held on by 2 tiny steele screws. All of the original detail of the stars, the spread eagle holding the American Shield Flag, the pistols and vine retain all of their original detail. Not even the lacquer is worn off. This little flask would make an impressive addition to any Colt or Remington collection or would case great with a fine+ Colt Root or Remington.
