Between 1971 and 1974 the Browning firm maufactured a total of 2500 of these limited edition guns in their Belgian factory to commemorate the 2 millionth Auto 5 being manufactured. These commemoratives are really spectacular. It is obvious that quite a bit more time was spent polishing these guns before applying the high-gloss blue finish. In addition to the normal floral scoll engraving the receivers have gold inlays in each side. The right side of the shotgun has "Browning 2,000,000 - 240" inlaid in gold letters inside a gold oval which represents the serial number of this shotgun in the series of 2500 made (# 240). The left side of the receiver has Mr. Browning's bust inlaid in gold, and below that, his signature inlaid in gold cursive. This special Light Twelve A5 has a 28" inch vent-rib barrel on it that is choked "Modified". It has a mint unfired bore in it that is mirror-bright and flawless. The factory stock set is what really sets these guns apart from any others. Browning used some of the finest and most attractive deluxe Walnut they could find. The wood is spectacular with beautiful figure and contrasting grain in both the buttstock and forearm, which are also a perfect match to each other. The stock set was checkered by hand and finished in a high gloss clear coat. The buttstock has a factory Browning/FN-branded buttplate perfectly fit to it. The length of pull is 14.5" inches to the end of the buttplate. As mentioned before, this spectacular Browning Light Twelve Commemorative was bought new by the original owner and put up in a safe. It was never carried or fired, and is as perfect as one could possibly hope for. All of the factory finishes are like-new and minty, and the interior of the gun is just as spotless and pristine as the exterior. It comes complete with the original special owner's manual and special commemorative black Browning Luggage Case, which is in superb condition as well. This case has a special brass plaque on the lid identifying it as a "2 Million Commemorative" case. The exterior needs a dust off but is like-new otherwise, and the interior is in perfect shape. If you are a true Browning Auto 5 collector here is your chance to get one of these special rare guns in pristine condition complete with everything it left the factory with. This has to be one of the nicest 2,000,000th Commemorative's in existence and could not be upgraded in any way.
