S&W 38/44 heavy duty revolver, post war with S prefix serial number. Uncommon four inch barrel.
These were built on the large S&W “N” frame, the same as the 44 Specials of that era. That explains the 38/44, a 38 built on a 44 frame. Original blue showing minor wear and a set of non matching diamond grips just a few number off. Timing and lockup is on the money. Five screw with an Excellent bore.
