Description:
Engraved and Silver Plated Moore's Patent Belt Revolver. .32 RF caliber. 5" octagon barrel with an excellent bore. Silver finish, walnut grips. The finish may have been originally silver-gilt.
Only 5-8,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in 1861-1863. It has standard cone and notch sights, "D. MOORE. PATENT. SEPT. 18. 1860" on top of the barrel, serial number on the bottom of the barrel lug, scroll engraving with punched backgrounds on the frame and grip frame, and the matching assembly number "12" on the frame, cylinder, hammer, front strap, and grip.
Very fine with 80% plus original silver plating, aged patinas throughout, crisp engraving, some minor pitting, and small marks. The grip is very good with glossy finish, slight shrinkage, and a small chip at the toe. Mechanically fine. Buyer pays $20.00 shipping to lower 48 states.
