Antique 1820s LONDON Wilbraham FLINTLOCK Pistol
Early 19th Century Self Defense Pistol
Here we present an antique Wilbraham Flintlock Pistol, made by George Wilbraham in London, England circa 1815-1832. Wilbraham was located at Leadenhall Street in London, England. This gun is marked "WILBRAHAM" on the engraved lock which has a sliding half cock safety, and a rainproof pan. The top of the barrel is flat and marked "LONDON" in bold script. There are London proofs on the barrel. The front sight is a small bead. The bottom of the barrel has a captive swivel mount for the iron ramrod. The stock is high grade walnut with hand-checkering at the wrist. The large bore and captive ramrod would make this pistol suitable for a gentleman to wear on the belt for his defense.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in great shape. The bore is smooth and dark. The action is excellent.
