Lock & Stock Civil War 1864 Springfield Percussion
Stock is not broken at the wrist or lock area nor have there been any repairs. Fairly large chip out of the top of the butt stock on one side.I have not had the gun apart. There is good spring tension when cocked but it does not hold at half or full cock. Not sure what is going on with the tang breech area. Appears to be some plan to add a screw in barrel. After thinking about it, it may be rather ingenious. I am selling this for an estate so no one to ask about it. Of course a complete barrel could be used. The right person could repair the butt stock & either make a carbine or add a section of forearm under the band for a full stock. No returns on parts.
