Description:
Serial #163041, .22 LR, 26 3/4" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This is a pre-WW2 single-shot rifle built on Mauser's superb miniature '98 action, and retains 80-85% of the original blue finish with mild plum-brown freckling throughout, but most noticeably along the barrel, and the exposed portions of the brightly finished bolt. The original, removable front sight is still present, and there is a small, unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel just ahead of the forend tip. The walnut stock is in very good shape with scattered handling marks and bruises in the reapplied varnish finish, although there is a repaired break at the wrist on the right side. These are great little .22 rifles, and this example rates very good overall. FFL or C&R
