Early production Pietta 1858 Remington Revolver; however, I have not been able to find a proof code for actual date of manufacture. Under the left grip on the frame is the Pietta logo stamp and SM 0235. This number is also stamped on the underside of the barrel. There are the letters PN on the face of the cylinder. All this can be seen in the attached photos. Anyone can purchase a new Pietta 1858 Remington, but it would not have the aged character, and patina that time and usage has produced on this one. The walnut grips have nice grain and show signs of wear, with small dents and dings adding to the character of the gun. The front sight is dovetailed into the barrel. The bore shows some minor staining with crisp rifling. The cylinder ports are in good condition. The timing is good with tight lock up. Trigger pull is light and crisp.
