SWISS VETTERLI M81 OR 1881 .41 SWISS (10.4 x 38) RIMFIRE MILITARY RIFLE. Serial number "2179XX" and all matching. All original uncleaned condition with light surface oxidation mixed with patina but NO pitting so will clean up nicely. Especially considering it's absolutley mint crisply rifled bore with mirror bright finish. Original unsanded wood furniture is solid and inletting perfect like only the Swiss can do so no cracks or losses. Original finish to wood as well with all the crisply struck inspector's marks. "R" in shield under Swiss Cross on right forend and same on buttstock. On top of buttstock(comb) back by buttplate is crisp "6" under cross and "D6/ cross/ CI" with border. Original sights, sling swivels, cleaning rod and also it's extra rimfire firing pin wrapped in wax paper/foil in hidden recess under buttplate. Unturned screws. Perfect working order with properly indexing elevator style loading block. Can't get over it's mint bore though. Hope someone can get the ammo to fire this one. Dark horse on the outside but cherry beyond it's outward appearance. Waffenfabrik Bern on receiver which is the only place these were manufactured. Antique.
