Description:
PRE WW2 J.P. SAUER MAUSER PRE K98K S/147/G CODE 1934-35 8MM HEER RIFLE WITH R.F.V. STAMP ON BUTT. Serial number "989X" and all matching except un-numbered rod. Sauer juxtaposed double barrel bands. Receiver reblued but with crisp markings. Small size "S/147/G" ( Sauer) along with Eagle(old Weimar Republic style) over 116/114 stamps on right side. Serial number along with eagle on left side(nothing on side rail correct). Barrel with same serial number and eagle/114 stamp. Bolt matches, Sight matches. Floorplate same with same proofs and number. Bands same. As well as all metal parts professionally reblued. Extractor on bolt plum. Bore excellent with crisp rifling. Original stock slightly sanded with all markings faint as result. Eagle over 114 stamped in wood behind triggerguard as well as larger Weimaer eagle over Waa?(cant see #)but matching serial number behind that crisply struck. Original matching buttplate with R.F.V. and 4 digit number under that struck quite crisply. I take this to mean the Reichsfinanzadverwaltung(Reich Finance Admin)-customs service and border patrol but more specifically collectors of duties/taxes. Interesting and rare will warrant further research for these Pre-War beauties.
