Colt 1878 DA Frontier Six Shooter .44-40 caliber revolver. Manufactured 1899. Bore has good rifling and light corrosion in the grooves. The action works and indexes perfectly. This is a .44-40 Frontier Six Shooter (marked on the barrel). Barrel address is sharp and clear. Barrel length 5 ½”. This revolver has mostly even patina. The grips are beautiful old original pearls with no chips, no cracks. These are easily $1,000 grips or more to someone with an engraved 1878 Colt! Very good looking 1878 Frontier Six Shooter. Note: There is a factory “star” on the right side trigger guard indicating return to the factory long ago for repair or refinish. Had to be an old repair because it sure wasn’t a refinish.
