David McKay Brown 20g Round Action Trigger Plate Side by Side Game Gun.
A scaled frame trigger plate round action side by side single game gun, with two triggers and auto safety, has a brushed finish and is engraved by Creative Arts. On the sides of the action is the Maker’s name in banners surrounded by a “cutaway floral scroll pattern” with a game scene cameo of a flushing pheasant on the bottom of the receiver. The serial number is done in the classic block numerals, the stock oval is blank and “SAFE” is inlaid in gold.
29” Chopper Lump barrels have 2005 London proofs, 2 ¾" (70mm) chambers, raised flat matted rib with a third bite rib extension, and a platinum bead. The barrels are choked Imp. Cylinder and 3/8 or Light Mod (.006”/.016”).
Very nicely figured walnut stock with a straight hand grip and 15” LOP over a checkered butt and a splinter forend with push rod release.
Gun was finished in 2008 and overall is in excellent condition. The engraving is superb, the stock is beautifully figured, the checkering is very well cut along with a fit and finish that are also excellent. Combined with the handling characteristics inherent in this gun design and Mr. Brown’s expertise in gun making, the DMB guns represent, what I think, is the finest incarnation of the Scottish round action trigger plate design and one of the best values in the Best gun world.
