Description:
A factory letter accompanies this highly sought after revolver confirming the rare barrel length and detailing its original shipment on April 16, 1932 to Wold & Klar in Fort Worth, Texas. There are three barrel lengths for the Third Model .44's and are most commonly seen with a 5" barrel, occasionally a 4" barrel comes along and very rarely does a collector encounter the 6 1/2" barrel! The gun comes in an equally hard to find maroon display box correctly end labeled with the tissue wrap, cleaning brush and trilingual caution flyer.
This 87 year old revolver remains in outstanding condition! The gun retains virtually 99% of the original bright blue finish with a tiny bit of wear at the muzzle, some minor aging on the backstrap and a little on the right side of the barrel. The bore and cylinder chambers are mint and the mechanical working order is flawless! A serious addition for any .44 Special collector.
