Description:
Made in 1920, this pistol's frame and slide have been carefully and expertly disassembled, cleaned, reassembled then test fired with 50 rounds of .32 ACP 73 grain ammo. Pistol functoned perfectly with no malfunctions and displayed amazing accuracy from 10 yards. Recoil spring has been replaced as the original was very weak from 99 years of compression along with the extractor spring. Finish appears original with some scratches and expected wear with more wear on the slide than frame and some expected finish loss on the front strap area. I would conservatively rate the finish as 80 percent or better. Bore is bright with no pitting. Original 8 round magazine has also been disassembled and cleaned of 99 years of dirt, surface rust and carbon with the spring replaced to ensure perfect feed and function. Grips are original rubber with no cracks or chips. No rust under grips.
While many of these guns appear for sale, virtually none have been cleaned internally beyond field stripping as most view detail disassembly and re assembly of the 1903 as too daunting a task. While a Colt 1903 may appear nice on the outside, my experience has been that internally they can be in pretty bad shape. This one is clean inside and out, ready for 100 more years of service.
