Description:
What makes this Lefever Grade-F 12-gauge shotgun special is its high original condition.  The 30” fine Damascus-steel barrels are in the chain-link pattern, which is rarely found in the original brown.  Approximately 80% of the receiver and side-plates show original case color.  The engraving is generally crisp, although it has softened on the left side-plate.  The barrels have 2-3/4” chambers and are choked modified (.020) and full (.030).  The minimum wall thickness of the right barrel is .046 and the left .050.  Both bores, which are bright and free of any pitting, have a diameter of .740.  The wood has only light handling marks, and the checking is crisp.  Drop at the comb is 1-7/8” and at the heel 3”.  The gun weighs 8 pound 3 ounces.  Length of pull is 14” to the original buttplate.  Triggers both pull at 6 pounds.  All serial numbers, 38046, match.  The gun locks up tight.  Manufactured circa 1911, this Lefever shows little use and exceptional care.

The price does not include shipping costs paid by buyer.  The inspection period is 7 days from receipt.  This shotgun has been fired on the range on a number of occasions using shells manufactured by RST Corporation designed for use in Damascus-barreled shotguns.  However, as for any antique or vintage shotgun, it is recommended that the new owner have it inspected by his or her own gunsmith before firing, and then only use shells that produce pressures for which the gun was designed.  The gun carries a 30-day warranty, during which Doublegun Preservation, LLC will have any mechanical problems documented by a professional gunsmith repaired or accept the return of the gun and refund the price of the gun and all shipping costs.  Please do not hesitate to call with questions Stephen Wesbrook at 703-625-4830.
