Forehand & Wadsworth British Bulldog 5-shot revolver in caliber 38 S&W, second issue, serial # 7037, made in 1880, standard 2 1/2" barrel, checkered birds head grips, full nickel finish, can be used in single action or double action, correct 2-line "BRITISH BULL-DOG" marking on top of receiver strap, small bulldog's head motif on left side of frame with "TRADE MARK" respectively above and below the bulldog's head. One of a handful that I am listing that I just acquired from a local estate - previous owner purchased this revolver in 1966 so it has been tucked away for 53 years!!
CONDITION: Retains 95% of the original factory nickel finish with losses in scattered spots due to oxidation or normal wear. Solid, unmolested wooden grips with sharp checkering, no chips or losses, minimal use marks, never refinished or cleaned. Bore has sharp rifling with typical scattered light black powder pitting. Action is strong and crisp in both single and double action operation. Grades NRA Antique Excellent.
