Description:
This is a very nice example of a Henry barrel with spring and plunger. I t is the standard length of 24". Highest serial number known is in the low 13,000 range and this one is serial number 12,3XX. Condition of the barrel, markings, finish and bore are excellent. The Henry and the Winchester 1866 used the same serial number range, so 1866's are interspersed in this range. The lowest 1866 serial number I am aware of is approximately 40 numbers higher than this Henry. This barrel may be unused. The rear sight dovetail appears unused, the loading gate operates correctly and retains assembly numbers. The serial number appears on the barrel under the loading gate.
