1851 Colt Navy
“US” martially marked
7.5” barrel and nice bore
36 caliber
Manufacture year 1856
Favorite gun of Robert E. Lee, Wild Bill Hickok and Doc Holliday
Silver plated brass remains on trigger guard
All numbers match including the wedge.
Barrel stamping address is very legible
Various inspector marks are stamped on the gun
Ramrod has about 70% blue remaining
Has a grayish/brown overall patina
Grips look to be original with 3 marks on the right side
The action is excellent
The cylinder scene is sharp and “Engaged May 16 1843” is very legible
Widely used in Civil war on both sides.
