Colt 2nd Model Dragoon; Serial No. 9838; Made 1851; All Matching Numbers except un-numbered wedge; Honest Brown Patina Revolver; Original Holster; “J H S 1866” Punch Dotted on backstrap; Identified by Mike Hesket as belonging to J.H. Salmon of Co. D 9th Texas Infantry; Much History; He was from Dangerfield (Titus County), Texas; He was at Meridian, MS. May 4, 1865 & was Surrendered by Lt. Gen. R. Taylor & was paroled May 11, 1865; NOTE: I have discovered that a few crooks in the Civil War Cartel are well known for enhancing this era weapons by crudely adding names, initials, etc. to these weapons.
