Around 1937 Brazil ordered about 25,000 of the 1917 DA revolvers for their military side arms. This specimen appears to be part of the second contract group shipped of 12,000 shipped at the beginning of 1946. Most all were sold to U.S. Surplus Dealers in 1989 - 1990
