Description:
*Note: Same ‘3-44’ barrel date as above BUT with later ‘5,267,---‘ serial number and as this is Inlands ‘’Transition Period’’ it has a few later features. Best of all it is absolutely and totally original and 100% Factory original as Inland Div. manufactured a very large number of Carbines this period! *Also, again at this exact period of manufacture this is a ‘transition’ period Inland Div. Carbine with some such as this Carbine having mid War features! (See Below) It is as follows: This Beautiful and most outstanding Early 1944/Mid-WWII Inland Div. M1 Carbine is not only All Matching and 100% Inland Div. Original thru-out but also a very superb Un-touched example of Inlands March 1944 (Pre dates Normandy/D-Day manufacture) This is the exact period M1 Carbine that would have been in actual Service in Europe, Italy and the Pacific from the March/April date on through the End of WWII. This particular example is one that is a ‘’Vet’’ Bring Back is easily seen by its magnificent ALL MATCHING and un-touched condition and originality to have been superbly cared for no doubt seeing no actual field use! This example with its ‘’5,267,---‘’ is in the Inland Div. 3rd assigned serial number range that went from 4979526 to 5549820 and with its Barrel date of ‘’3-44’’. (*Note/FYI: As stated this is Inlands ‘’transition’’ period of manufacture (See example SN 5,033,--- above, same ‘’3-44’’ barrel date but with different features). Again manufactured in Inlands ‘’Transition’’ period of their manufacture and as such it has the following Mid-War features: ‘’Milled’’ adjustable rear sight that is Inland ‘’PI’’ marked, 2nd type operating slide, wide barrel band with out bayonet lug, ‘’low wood’’ stock and mid/later internals, round blued bolt, push safety, magazine catch with the ‘’M’’ on the right side and etc. What a truly outstanding piece of actual WWII History this is and being now 73 years old it amazingly remains in simply magnificent un-touched condition thru-out and will come complete with all the below listed Accessories. (*See Below) *Book Reference: Please refer to the fine book: ‘’War Baby’’ by Larry Ruth and the Chapter on Inland Div. pages 339 to 363. Also Bruce N. Canfield has some fine books on M1 Carbines. *Matching/Originality: As stated this is indeed ALL MATCHING and original thru out with each and every part Inland Div. marked/coded and no up-grades, never Re-Arsenaled, up-graded or rebuilt! Everything even the pins and butt plate and its screw remain absolutely 100% Inland Div. March, 1944 un-touched/original thru out! *Finish & %: The original March 1944 Inland Div. Factory metal finish remains today 74 years after its manufacture totally untouched never touched up, messed with, cleaned  or refinished and simply magnificent with the exposed metal finish other than of course minor action cycling rating at 98%+ to 99% overall with parts breaking down as follows: The receiver itself is that unmistakable Inland Div. ‘’Dark Gray/Green’’ color and basically other than just a bit minor cycling wear from the operating slide/bolt cycling rates appx. 99%! The ‘’PI’’ marked (on right side of base) ‘’Milled ‘’ adjustable rear sight other than expected minor very top edge wear rates at appx 98%+ or better, the round blued bolt typically shows only slight expected cycling wear from the action being cycled a bit as this rubs inside the receiver as it slides back and forth still retaining a very high % of its original Inland Factory blued finish. The exposed operating slide rates the same appx. 98%+ or better. The exposed barrel remarkably rates 98%+ to 99 with simply slight rubbing from being dis-assembled of the band fits attesting to the little actual use the Carbine has had all its life! The front sight is easily seen to indeed be absolutely un-touched after its Inland Factory assembly in March, 1944 and rates easily 99%. Other than basically only the very sharp edge the early 2nd type wide barrel band with out bayonet lug it rates the same  appx 98%+ to 99%*and easily seen to have never been messed with and absolutely 100% original to the barrel, never added or removed! The exposed trigger housing rates easily at 99%. Again all parts including all internals are totally ALL MATCHING Inland Div. marked/coded thru out and retain their untouched original Mid-1944 Inland Factory finish plus again every pin, screw, etc. is its original Inland Factory part! *Proofs/Markings: All are absolutely Factory perfect/original thru out with the rear top receiver being perfectly marked ‘’INLAND DIV.’’ over ‘’5267---! The barrel is also perfectly ‘’INLAND MFG. DIV. over GENERAL MOTORS over 3-44’’ marked and ‘’P’’ Proofed! *Bore: The BORE with only a patch ran through it rates ABSOULTY BEAUTIFUL, BRIGHT SHINY and MINT! *Action/Mechanically: This too remains absolutely perfect and even has a very tight/NEW fit in the receiver/trigger housing area where most Carbines seem to fit very loosely and rattle! *Wood set: As with all the above the 100% original early 1944 Factory ‘’Low Wood’’ Inland Div. stock (this is again Inlands ‘’Transition’’ period and by now using this variation stock thru out balance of all production) and still has the earlier 2 rivet hand guard. All remains untouched in all these 72 years and never being cleaned or messed with simply showing only ever so minor expected storage and handling rates Excellent+/Minty and both are Inland Div. ‘’IO’’ coded and both stock and the ‘’2’’ rivet hand guard match as perfect as any 2 pieces can possibly can in all respects easily told unquestionably original to each other! The stock is as mentioned the original early Inland Div. ‘’Low’’ wood variation and has the original Inland Div. (Large) ‘’ORDNANCE WHEEL CROSSED CANNONS’’ Cartouche (a 90% strike) on the right rear butt stock that is absolutely untouched as the day in March 1944 when it was stamped being deep, sharp and crisp! The stock and hand guard fit perfectly in all respects with tight/NEW fit and none of the usual looseness and rattle most Carbines seem to have! Even the original Inland Div. butt plate is outstanding rating 98% with perfect screw and Mint slot! *Magazine/Accessories: Remarkably this most Beautiful March, 1944 Inland M1 Carbine is complete with its original Inland Div. ‘’IS’’ marked blued 15 round magazine. Although it was brought back with no sling or oiler JUST ASK and we will include a sling and oiler N/C. *History/Use: Being manufactured March, 1944 this is the variation of WWII M1 Carbine that would have been in Service BEFORE the Normandy ‘’D-Day’’ landings and would have served thru-out the balance of the War in both the European, Italian and Pacific theaters. What a most fantastic piece of WWII History this absolutely untouched early 1944-WWII ‘’Vet’’ carried/bring back March 1944 Inland Div. Carbine is and again this is the variation that would have served in virtually all the European battles right before the D-Day/Normandy Invasion, all battles through France, Belgium, Battle of the Bulge, Germany, the Italian and Campaigns and it is also the variation also carried in all the earlier 1944 Pacific Battles from early-1944 on through Iwo Jima and helped end the entire long War! A truly great piece of WWII History/WWII History at its very BEST! *<>Curio &Relic FFL Item<>
