Description:
This is a very nice honest and attractive Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk that has been very lightly used. Manufactured in 1979, this gun still has it's beautiful all-original gloss blue finish intact and in excellent condition overall. The gun may be 40 years old but it appears to have been fired VERY little and has likely spent most of it's life in storage. The only finish wear to speak of is a drag-line around the cylinder and just a touch of high edge wear in places. The bore in the 7.5" inch barrel is superb, mirror-bright and free from any pitting or erosion. The cylinder bores are equally as clean, with no visible imperfections of any kind. The only non-factory original part on this Ruger is the grips, which are a set of large vintage aftermarket checkered Walnut grips to help tame the .44 magnum's recoil. They are in excellent condition and free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and they are quite comfortable especially for those shooters with larger hands. We removed the grips to examine the front grip strap and the factory blue finish underneath is like-new with no wear or corrosion. The action on this vintage Super Blackhawk is smooth and precise, and it is perfectly "in time". The cylinder locks up nicely and the trigger is excellent, breaking with a light pull with no grit or sloppiness. All of the controls and functions on this Ruger are in perfect working order, 100% like the day it left the factory in 1979. If you have been looking for a clean and lightly-used .44 Magnum Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk for your collection as an investment as well as a shooter, this gun would be an excellent choice.
