Description:
Very Nice Winchester Model 1894 Rifle in 30WCF Caliber. As mentioned, this is an Antique Model built in early 1895 and has been back to the factory for refinish and proofing. I was told this many years ago when I first purchased the gun. Proof Marks on the barrel will authenticate that the gun did go back to the factory sometime after 1902 when they first began proofing black powder guns for smokeless powder. Good chance that when the gun went back, the barrel was replaced. No case colors on the lever, hammer and butt-plate tell me this was a lot later than 1902 or 03. Exxcellent Bore and 96-97% Metal Finish. Wood has some minor handling marks from being hunted but nothing major. Pretty minor wear for a gun of this vintage. ( See Photos ). No license required to purchase this gun but would request that it still be shipped to a FFL Dealer or C&R Licensee. thanks for looking.
