.44 cal, #3257, 7 1/2 inch barrel, blue and case color finish, brass trigger guard and back strap, U.S. marked, circa 1848.
Condition: strong rifling with black powder oxidation, metal surfaces are smooth mottled silver/plum, brass is aged gold color, grips show much use, very good mechanically, good marks.
