Description:
Serial #12284, .45-70, 24" barrel with a fine, bright bore. This is a handsome carbine that has approximately 80-85% of the original blue finish that has blended smoothly with a gray-brown freckled patina on the balance. The bolt has an armory bright finish along the body with dark plum-brown on the handle and some original blue on the cocking-piece. The walnut stock has been sanded and refinished to excellent condition with very nice textured grain, and there are no cracks or breaks at the wrist, unlike most other 1st Model examples. The saddle ring loop is still present and this commercial carbine rates fine condition overall. Antique
