Description: DESCRIPTION: Remington Model 1875 Single Action revolver, 6-shot cylinder, caliber 44-40, walnut grips, 7 3/8" round barrel, ejector rod and original sling ring on bottom of grip, first year production - serial # 79 appears on the left side of the frame under the grip, and in pencil on the inside of the right grip wood. CONDITION: Overall metal is a light patina with about 5% coverage and some darker patina in the protected areas of the ejector/cylinder pin housing. Bore is good with plenty of rifling but has the typical scattered black powder fouling and should clean better. Only traces of the barrel address remain. Cylinder has very slight wobble and indexes properly. Right grip has "1870" and "FJ" scratched into it, meanings unknown, otherwise grips are good with no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished. Last hammer notch is worn, so the hammer does not stay back at full cock, but still fires from the 2nd notch position and does sit properly in the first position to allow rotation of the cylinder for cartridge ejection.
