GORGEOUS Antique PENNSYLVANIA Half Stock Long Rifle
With Logan & Kennedy Lock & Ornate Hardware
Here we present an antique Pennsylvania Half-Stock Long Rifle with a Logan & Kennedy Lock, made circa the 1840s. Logan & Kennedy were gun and lock makers out of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania from 1831 through 1847. This rifle features a wonderful piece of striped maple for the stock. The right side has an ornate patchbox set into it and attractive German silver escutcheons decorate throughout. This rifle has a 34-inch octagonal barrel made to handle a .32 caliber patched ball. The front sight is a blade and the rear an open notch. The lock is engraved and marked by the makers “Logan & Kennedy”. This rifle has double set triggers for a light and crisp trigger break. This is a very attractive rifle and a top notch example of old world craftsmanship.
The overall condition is near fine. The barrel bears much of its original finish. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in great shape. The bore is fine, bright and sharp. The action is excellent.
