Description:
Serial #32715, .22 LR, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a nice little rifle that retains 97-98% of the original bright commercial blue finish that exhibits some faint silvering along the barrel and sides of the receiver, as well as some mild silvering and fading on the projecting edges. The breech block has still vivid color case-hardening present on either side of the loading trough and there is further case-hardening still visible at the top of the lever which has turned to a freckled plum-brown color on the balance. Crisp Canadian “C/(Broad Arrow)" property stamps are present on the top breech flat, right side of the receiver, and on the right side of the buttstock just ahead of the brass stock disk which is stamped, “1638/CC/6" (Cadet Corps). The checkered walnut forend and straight grip buttstock are in fine shape with only minor handling marks in the original varnish and the B.S.A. horn buttplate has some minor insect damage around the lower screw and a small chip at the toe. The original Parker-Hale vernier rear sight and globe front sight with single insert are in excellent shape and have only some minor finish loss on some of the edges. This is an excellent, military marked small frame Martini that has an unusually high amount of original condition remaining. FFL or C&R
