Description:
W.C.Scott Priemier 12g hammerless sidelock made in 1881. The Premier was their best.. Barrels are 30” dovetailed-lump SLEEVED with a concave rib and dolls head extension. On flats are the original BP ¬London proofs.It Is not stamped “Sleeved” so sleeving might have been done in US? It’s a good job but one can see the joint- esp. in the rib. Mirror bores. On rib is “W and C Scott and Sons Patent Tr.ilex lever grip PREMIER QUALITY 1067 Castle Street Regent Circus London”. Barrel blue is 99%. I don’t know the chamber length but as it was sleeved I shot 2 1/2” RST shells thru it.
STOCk: POW round knob type with excellent figured walnut and unmarred finish, LOP is 14 1/2” to center of brown decelerator pad, 14 7/8” to Toe. DAC is 1 3/4” to Heel is 3”. Vacant gold shield on top of wrist. Classic point checkering- looks about 22/inch. Receiver is covered with engravings of ducks, geese, egrets and a standing egret on trigger guard bottom. On left of rec. is “Patent Block Safety”. Has Scott Crystal Cocking indicators thru which one can see if hammers are cocked. Toplever W/ Scott Spindle. Was made with intercepting sears, beaded fences and manual top tang safety. About 30% case color on action. FOREND: Splinter with press in Scott patent splinter release. WEIGHT 8#.
