GANGSTER-Era LE Favorite!
Here we present a Colt Police Positive .32 Revolver, made in 1910 in Hartford, Connecticut. This revolver was hugely successful and was especially a hit with law enforcement: federal, state and local. Likely many more civilians purchased these as well. This was the era of the gangster and many of these would have been on the hips and in the pockets of the combatants. Its small and sleek design coupled with its smooth action and Colt’s reputation made this revolver thrive. The Colt Police Positive was an improvement of Colt’s earlier New Police revolver, featuring an internal hammer block safety, which is where part of this revolver’s namesake come from: the positive lock. Many of the Colts revolvers of the 20th Century owe homage to this model here.
The overall condition is fine. The original blue finish is 85% intact. The markings are clear and legible. Numbers match. The hard rubber grips are in great shape. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The action is excellent. Here is a dandy early Colt Police Positive!
