A.H. Fox A Grade 12 gauge SxS double triggers 3-barrel set (28", 30", 32")
Upgraded by Savage Arms--nicely recase hardened!
This early A.H. Fox A Grade 12 gauge double barrel shotgun with double triggers and is a non-ejector. The serial # is 7174A (all matching). According to a letter from the late Michael McIntosh dated 2/9/99, it most likely was made in 1907. See picture of the letter. The gun was "upgraded" by Savage Arms sometime before then, unsure of date as Savage's records have been lost according to a recent inquiry. All metal parts have been nicely re-case hardened and the butt stock and two fore-ends (one beaver-tail, one splinter) done in well figured walnut with elaborate checkering. According to Mr. McIntosh's best guess, the gun was originally made with the 28" barrels, returned to Fox sometime later and fitted with the 30" barrels. The 32 in ch barrels were made by Savage when they "upgraded" it. Please see pictures.
The 28" barrels are marked as follows: Right barrel is marked "Krupp Fluid Steel Made by" and the left barrel is marked "A.H. Fox Gun Co. Phila. PA 12 GA - 2 3/4" chamber" on the underside, the right barrel is marked "SK IN" and the left barrel is marked "SK OUT".
The 30" barrels are marked as follows: Right barrel is marked "CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL". The left barrel is marked "MADE BY A. H. FOX GUN CO PHILA PA U.S.A.". No marking as to choke. Measure modified and IM.
The 32" barrels are marked as follows: Right barrel is marked "PROOF TESTED 12 GAUGE 2 3/4" INCH CHAMBER". The left barrel is marked "SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS U.S.A." No marking as to choke. Measure Full & Full.

Shipping
Buyer pays a fixed S/H/I rate. Shipping price is quoted for the lower 48 States. Alaska and Hawaii pays actual S/H/I cost. Packages are sent via UPS (all long guns) or USPS (all handguns).
Firearms are transfered to FFL Dealers only. The buyer is responsible for finding a FFL to handle the Firearms Transfer.
