Description: This is a very nice K98 that was made into a sporter post WWII - but the barrelled action has not been altered and the bolt matches the receiver. Front receiver ring stamped bnz and 42 meaning it was made in 1942 at the Steyr-Daimler-Puch factory. Rifle is nazi proofed with a good shootable bore and chamber. Looks like they dropped the barrelled action into a Fajen sporter stock which was a very common thing to do after WWII ended as there were no sporting rifles on the market (all production having gone to the war department during the war years). If you have a military stock with hardware this could easily be put back into full military configuration, raising its value considerably. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
