Description:
This is a beautiful Smith and Wesson Model 19-3 with a factory nickel finish and a 2.5" inch snub nose barrel that is police property-stamped "S.P.D." on the left side of the frame.  It was manufactured in 1973 and has the sought-after pinned barrel and recessed cylinder chambers.  This S&W has obviously been very well cared for over the years and shot very little, showing only minor handling and storage marks in the bright factory-original nickel finish.  The bore in this revolver is excellent and still shows sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and no imperfections whatsoever.  The 6 chambers in the cylinder are equally as clean and bright with no visible imperfections.  The original Goncalo Alves checkered grips are also in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or noticeable wear.  The grips are perfectly fit to this gun, and both sides are perfectly tight to the grip frame with no wiggle.  The sights on this Model 19-3 are in great shape overall.  The front sight has a red insert for better visibility and the windage and elevation adjustments on the rear sight are in perfect working order.  All of the factory markings are crisp and clean, and the police property stamp was professionally done.  We are not sure what police department "S.P.D." is, it could be any city or town with a name that starts with an "S" like Sacramento, Springfield, Sturgis, Stockton, etc.  The action on this Smith is superb and perfectly "in time" regardless of speed or whether it is worked in single or double action.  The trigger is exceptional when used in single action operation, breaking with a very light pull and with no slop or grit.  This vintage S&W revolver's action and trigger really have to be felt to be truly appreciated.  If you have been looking for neat new addition to your S&W/gun collection, this police-marked nickel finished Model 19-3 snubbie would be an excellent choice.
