Description:
This is a beautiful early Norinco Mak 90 that was originally manufactured as an underfolder model in China, was converted to a thumbhole stock by the importer in the States, and has since been converted back to a underfolder. Our understanding is that only the very earliest Mak-90s retained their original threaded muzzles and were manufactured as underfolders in China prior to getting the thumbhole stock here in the States. As you can see from the pictures this is a very good looking Ak, with all of the metal finished in a factory dark gloss blue finish or black enamel, and it is fitted with an attractive wooden stock set and finger-groove pistol grip. All of the original factory numbered parts match including the receiver, gas tube, bolt, bolt head, top cover (dust cover), and recoil spring guide. The factory chrome-lined bore in this AK is pristine and does not show any wear or imperfections. The factory-threaded muzzle currently has a Chinese slant-style brake screwed on it, held in place with the front sight-mounted plunger. The bolt in this Mak 90 is blued and in excellent condition showing no mechanical wear, and the other internal parts are just as clean and free from wear including the bolt-mounted gas piston. The upper and lower handguards and the pistol grip are in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or damage. They are nicely fit to the gun and the natural wood really adds some attractive contrast to the AK. The underfolder stock is also in excellent condition, showing a nice factory blue finish. It locks properly into both the folded and extended positions, and it allows the gun to be fired and operated without interference in either position. This Mak 90 comes complete with an original Chinese flat-back/spineless 30-round magazine, and is fitted with a proper Chinese Military adjustablesling with leather stirrups at either end. If you have been looking for a "high end" AK to add to your collection this Norinco Mak 90 underfolder would be a superb choice. Very few Ak's are built as nicely as these early Mak 90's are, and they are proven performers in the field and as investments.
